Welcome to 2016!

Yay 2016! I’m rearing to go and I’m so excited to have you all on this ride with me. This is going to be our biggest and best year yet.

I took a wee break over the summer and it was brilliant. I was a big kid and even put an out of office on my emails … I know, right!  If you’ve emailed me in the past, you’ll know it’s not unusual for me to respond at all hours of the night. In fact, it’s just past midnight and I’m writing this blog post.  So to take a break over the summer was kind of a big deal.

I spent a few nights north of Auckland and 4 nights on Waiheke Island. I read two whole books that week! It’s almost unheard of with a 9 month old baby around. I sampled my fair share of wine, and ate a lot of bread and dip (yum!). The weather wasn’t the best but it didn’t matter.  I had good company, and did I mention the wine?

The New Year brings a few changes to Alare. Firstly – this awesome new website which I am so stoked with. A HUGE thanks to Kelly at Creative Box for reading my mind and pulling my ideas together, and Kate at Speckle Spot Creative for understanding the scribbles on paper and making it all happen!  It’s been such a fun process.

The other big change is that I am now a Registered Independent Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant. In short, I can marry people! Woohoo!! I’m officiating my very first wedding next month at one of my fave venues, The Boatshed Karapiro. Hopefully I’ll have some gorgeous pics to share after the big day.

I don’t really do New Years Resolutions, but I’ve definitely got a few goals for the year:

  • Spend more time interacting with you cool people
  • Sleep a little more (so feel free to tell me off if you keep seeing late night emails!)
  • Keep up this blogging business, and maybe throw in some video blogs too!

I really wanted to put something in here about wine, but I feel that’s not so appropriate ;)

Right, time to work on one of those goals and get some sleep. If there’s anything in particular you would love for me to blog about, please get in touch. I always love hearing from you and talking all things weddings!

Happy New Year!

Hannah
